Sundance Festival's Green Films
Posted 3/4/2010 1:00:00 PM

While the Sundance Film Festival has been over with for awhile in Park City, Utah there are still a lot of great movies to take a look at. A few of these films happen to be “green films” or environmental documentaries. Some past environmental documentaries shown at the festival which later made it to the theater include: An Inconvenient Truth, The Cove, and Who Killed the Electric Car?

I’m sure most of you have at least heard of the movie An Inconvenient Truth. I actually watched it as an undergrad for extra credit for one of my classes. I enjoyed the movie and it really made me think about my own carbon footprint.
Some of the environmental documentaries from this year’s festival range from documentaries about natural gas extraction in Pennsylvania, the problems with humans being displaced by climate change will have on global security, and arsenic poisoning in Cambodia.

The documentary about natural gas extraction is appropriately called Gasland , while the one about global security and climate change has a simple title of Climate Refugees, and lastly the film set in Cambodia is called Born Sweet

Have any of you seen these films? If so what did you think? To read more about the documentaries click here.
